The General English Pre – Intermediate course:
Vocabulary Expansion: The course introduces a
wider range of vocabulary across various topics, such as travel and holidays,
education, technology, work, relationships, and more. It aims to enhance
students' vocabulary repertoire, enabling them to express themselves in greater
detail and engage in more complex conversations.
Grammar: During the course we cover a range of grammar points to reinforce
students' understanding and usage of English grammar. Topics may include verb
tenses (present perfect continuous, past perfect), conditionals (zero, first,
and second), reported speech, phrasal verbs, modals (ability, possibility,
necessity), and more.
Speaking and Listening: The course provides
ample opportunities for students to practice speaking and listening skills. It
includes dialogues, discussions, role plays, and listening activities that
encourage students to engage in extended conversations, express opinions,
participate in debates, and comprehend English spoken in various contexts.
Reading: we present a variety of reading texts,
such as articles, stories, and reports, to help students develop their reading
comprehension skills further. The texts are designed to be slightly more
challenging than those in the Elementary level and cover a range of interesting
and relevant topics.
Writing: The course includes writing exercises
and tasks that encourage students to practice their writing skills at a
pre-intermediate level. These may involve writing informal emails, letters,
reviews, descriptions, narratives, and expressing opinions in writing.
Pronunciation: Pronunciation practice continues
in the Pre-intermediate level, focusing on further improving students'
pronunciation, intonation, and listening skills. It may include exercises on
stress patterns, rhythm, connected speech, and intonation in different
contexts.
Cultural Awareness: In the course, cultural
aspects of English-speaking countries may be explored, offering students
insights into different cultures, traditions, and customs.
